Pokémon GO: Gloom Evolution Guide - Screen Rant

Gloom is one of the Pokémon that has more than one evolution option in Pokémon GO. Both of Gloom's evolutions require Oddish candies, and one also needs an evolution stone to obtain. There's a small chance that players can encounter Gloom in the wild, but it's more likely an Oddish is found. Oddish can be evolved into Gloom for 25 candies, then Gloom will require an additional 100 candies to evolve.

Gloom is a Grass- and Poison-type Pokémon that can evolve into either Vileplume or Bellossom. Vileplume is also a Grass- and Poison-type Pokémon, but Bellossom is just a Grass-type. For each Gloom evolution in Pokémon GO, players will need 100 candies, and Bellossom also requires a Sun Stone. Players will need to collect a lot of Oddish candies in order to evolve Gloom into Vileplume and Bellossom.

To find and catch Oddish quickly, a Mossy Lure Module can be used on any PokéStop. Mossy Lure Modules can be purchased in the shop for 180-200 PokéCoins depending on the region a player is in. Although it's not guaranteed that Oddish will appear, using a Mossy Lure Module will increase its spawn rate. The spawn rate of Grass-type Pokémon will also increase if the sunny or clear weather boost is active. If players are starting with Oddish, then a total of 250 candies are needed to get Vileplume and Bellossom, so it may take some time to catch enough Pokémon to complete the evolutions.

How To Get Vileplume & Bellossom In Pokémon GO

To earn the most candy for each Oddish captured, a Pinap Berry or Silver Pinap Berry in Pokémon GO can be used. Catching an Oddish will award three candies, but using a Pinap Berry increases it to six, and a Silver Pinap Berry will give players seven candies. One candy can also be earned every time an Oddish, or any Pokémon in its evolutionary line, is transferred. Additionally, players should keep an eye out for candy bonuses while there's an active event in the game.

Once enough candies are collected, Gloom can be evolved into Vileplume right away. Unlike Vileplume, evolving Gloom into Bellossom requires a Sun Stone to be obtained. To get a Sun Stone, players can spin PokéStops and Gym Stops. However, there's only a 1% chance of getting a Sun Stone from spinning Stops. There's also a chance that a Sun Stone in Pokémon GO can be obtained by completing Research Tasks.

As long as players have at least 100 candies and a Sun Stone, they can choose which evolution of Gloom they want. Rare candies earned from winning raids can also be used if players are a little short on Oddish candies. As a Grass- and Poison-type Pokémon, Vileplume is generally better for league battles, raids, and gym battles. However, evolving Gloom into Bellossom will help players complete their Pokédex. Gloom is just one of many Pokémon that has multiple evolution options in Pokémon GO.
