I'm about 6'1.5" most of the day, maybe closer to 6'2" in the morning and closer to 6'1.25" at night and I 100% guarantee you no 5'9.5" guy is looking that tall next to me. How Damon looks here isn't far off from how my 5'11" brother looks next to me - right around a 2.5" difference in height - which if Damon is 5'9.5" would put Heath Ledger at right around the 6 foot mark on the dot. If he were a real 6'1", 5'9.5" should put the top of Damon's head right around mid-eye level for Ledger. Instead, if you draw a line - and notice that Damon is slouching a bit because Heath is putting some of his weight on his shoulder - from the top of Damon's head over to Ledger's head to the left, the top of his head comes up to his forehead somewhere in the middle, which is VERY consistent given the typical range of male head sizes with a height difference of between 2.5" and 3". So, at very BEST, Heath might hope to eek out a little over the 6 foot mark - maybe 183.5 to 184 cm, but to hit 6'1 (about 185.5 cm) he'd need nearly an inch in height ESPECIALLY since Damon is not standing fully upright here. I wouldn't put Heath at any LESS than 6'0" but no more than 6'0.5". Somewhere in that range. To give him the benefit of the doubt I'd split the difference and say MOST LIKELY, Heath Ledger's REALISTIC maximum height was 183.5 cm, or around 6'0.25" - in your typical pair of shoes that could be boosted to close to 6'1" - and most men when they state their height ARE including shoes so it would track with Heath's claim (also why most men's stated height is about an inch more than their actual height without shoes) of being "6'1". Note that in any case, he still comes in taller than average for sure - keep in mind Matt Damon is right around smack dab average male height and you get the idea.
