Go ahead and cross the streams.

By Seth G.MacyUpdated: Aug 17, 2021 12:06 amThe biggest question around Disney+ right now seems to be just how many devices you can use simultaneously to watch the enormous line-up of programming and movies. The good news is Disney+ is pretty generous when it comes to streaming across multiple devices. What might be even cooler than the streaming options is the amount of devices you can use to download Disney+ content. Let's get to the numbers.

How Many Devices Can Stream Disney Plus at Once

According to Disney's own help page, you can share your Disney+ login to stream on up to four different devices simultaneously. That means any of the supported Disney+ devices, from TVs to smartphones to your web browser, support multiple streams. So if you want to watch Iron Man on your smart TV while someone else in your house watches on an iPad, you just login with your account info and have at it. It's that simple.commerce artwork

How Many Devices Can Download Disney Plus Content at Once

You can download any of the movies, shows, and originals from Disney+ to up to 4 different devices at once per account, similar to how many devices can stream Disney+ simultaneously. It's a really great feature if you have a family, or you just want to load up on Disney, Star Wars, Marvel, or National Geographic content before a long flight or time away from reliable internet. There's a pretty comprehensive list of compatible Disney+ devices, and you can check to make sure you have something compatible, but basically if you're reading this on a modern smart phone or on your computer, you can stream or download Disney+ shows and movies right now (provided you have a Disney+ subscription, of course).

What Disney Plus Content Is Available for Download

Arguably the coolest hidden feature of Disney+ is the ability to download everything on the service, as many times as you want, without a limit on when you need to watch it. That means everything: every Marvel movie, every Star Wars movie, every single episode of DuckTales old AND new, the 1990s X-Men animated series, even Avatar, can be downloaded without limits on how many times you can download it or how long you have to wait to watch it. As long as you don't exceed the 4 device limit, you can download Disney+ to your heart's content.

Everything Coming to Disney's Streaming Service (So Far)

Click through to learn about everything that's being included in Disney's upcoming streaming service. The Mandalorian

One of the biggest draws for Disney's new service is The Mandalorian, the very first live-action Star Wars TV series, premiering November 12 on Disney+. Director Jon Favreau is overseeing this ambitious project, which is said to have a budget of $100 million for its eight-episode run. Pedro Pascal is starring in this story about a mysterious Mandalorian gunfighter navigating the fringes of the galaxy in the period between the collapse of the Empire and the rise of the First Order. The cast also includes Gina Carano, Giancarlo Esposito, Nick Nolte, Werner Herzog and even Taika Waititi as the voice of bounty hunting droid IG-88. Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard, Dave Filoni, Rick Famuyiwa and Deborah Chow will also direct episodes.View 56 ImagesRogue One Prequel Series

Disney+ will also play host to a Rogue One prequel series centered around Diego Luna's character Cassian Andor. The series will offer a closer look at the early days of the Rebellion and Cassian's own rise to prominence as a Rebel commando and spy. Andor and Alan Tudyk (K-2SO) are the only confirmed actors so far, but it's assumed other Rogue One actors like Alistair Petrie (General Draven) will also reprise their roles.Obi-Wan Kenobi Series

After years of rumors about Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi getting a solo movie, it seems he's destined for a Disney + series instead. Ewan McGregor has been confirmed for his own standalone Obi-Wan series. It's believed the series will take place during Obi-Wan's time on Tatooine, which was much more eventful than you might think.Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7

Star Wars fans were ecstatic to learn at Comic-Con that The Clone Wars is making a comeback. A 12-episode seventh season will be debuting on the service, helping to wrap up the various unfinished storylines left hanging when the series abruptly concluded on Cartoon Network in 2013. Star Wars Movies

Naturally, existing Star Wars movies will be included on the streaming service, though not nearly as many as fans might be expecting. Because of various existing licensing deals with the likes of Netflix and Starz, no Star Wars movies made before 2019 are currently able to be included. In particular, Turner has the broadcasting rights to the original six films locked up until 2024. However, Disney is reportedly trying to buy back those rights, so it's possible the classic films will wind up being available when the streaming service goes live.

How Many Devices Can Stream Hulu or ESPN+ at Once

This is where things start to get a little bit tricky. If you signed up for the Hulu, Disney+ and ESPN+ bundled deal, the allowable devices for simultaneous streaming differs from service to service. According to the Hulu help page, you can stream Hulu on two different screens at once. According to the ESPN+ help page, you can watch the service across three different screens simultaneously. Just like with Disney+, there's no limit to how many devices you can use to sign in, just make sure you don't exceed your number of allowed screens or someone will get booted in the middle of an episode of The Mandalorian, which no one wants.Oh, and it IS possible to get ad-free Hulu with Disney+, it's just a bit of a process.

The 15 Weirdest Disney Plus Movies You May Not Have Seen

From a forgotten Herbie sequel to... whatever the heck Mr. Boogedy is, here are 15 obscure Disney movies you can watch on Disney+. The Story of Perri (1957)

You might be familiar with Disney's recent family-friendly nature documentaries like Penguins, African Cats and Chimpanzee, but the studio has a very long history of taking wildlife footage and creating a feel-good story around it. The Story of Perri follows the titular squirrel as she learns the ways of the forest and falls in love with a male squirrel named Porro.View 16 ImagesSammy the Way-Out Seal (1962)

As various Twitter memes have pointed out, it's really hard to believe this is an actual movie and not just one of those spoofs name-dropped by Troy McClure on The Simpsons. Originally broadcast as a two-part series on Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color, this movie follows two brothers who happen across an injured seal while on vacation. Rather than, you know, alert the proper authorities, they nurse Sammy back to health themselves and even smuggle him home. Inevitably, hijinks ensue when Sammy gets fed up with hiding out in a bathtub. The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes (1969)

Long before he played iconic, gritty action heroes like Snake Plissken and R.J. MacReady, a young Kurt Russell played affable college student Dexter Riley. In this goofy comedy, a bolt of lightning transforms Dexter into a human computer. Even by 1969 standards, that makes him smart enough to help lead his quiz team to a national tournament. The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes spawned two even more obscure sequels, 1972's Now You See Him, Now You Don't (in which Dexter becomes invisible) and 1975's The Strongest Man in the World (in which he gains super-strength). Russell returned for both.

Funnily enough, all three movies take place at the same fictional college campus as 1961's The Absent-Minded Professor and 1963's Son of Flubber, meaning Disney was doing the cinematic universe thing decades before the MCU.The Million Dollar Duck (1971)

What happens when an ordinary duck is bombarded with radiation? In most cases we'd expect some sort of B-movie horror adventure or a psychedelic superhero movie. But being that this is an early '70s family-friendly Disney movie, the answer is instead a duck with the power to lay literal golden eggs. The late, great Gene Siskel once described this as one of only three movies he ever walked out on.Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo (1977)

A lot of Disney fans remember the original The Love Bug pretty fondly, but how many people are aware this sequel even exists? Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo pairs the sentient VW Beetle with Dean Jones' elite racer Jim Douglas and a cranky mechanic played by Don Knotts at his most comically bug-eyed, as this team tries to stage a comeback by winning the fictional Trans-France race.
