If you’re craving something fruity and refreshing, this strawberry juice recipe is the way to go. Fresh strawberries blend into a naturally sweet and colorful drink that’s perfect for any time of day. You don’t need fancy ingredients or equipment—just simple steps and a few fresh berries. It’s a fun and easy way to enjoy the flavor of strawberries in liquid form.

The best part is you can make this recipe your own. Add a splash of lemon juice for a little tang, or stir in some sugar or maple syrup if you like it sweeter. You can even mix it with sparkling water for a fizzy treat. However you make it, this juice comes together quickly and tastes amazing chilled over ice.

For super-fans of strawberry drinks and desserts, you’ll love this strawberry almond milk smoothie, strawberry mint lemonade, and fresh strawberry ice cream. Don’t want something quite as sweet? This green juice recipe is a refreshing option.

Why Strawberry Juicing Is So Berry Awesome

While it’s sometimes a pain to drag the cumbersome juicer out from under the counter, we feel that the finished product is always worth it. Here are more reasons why we love this juice:

  • Super Fresh Flavor – Homemade strawberry juice tastes way better than store-bought. It’s naturally sweet, bright, and refreshing, just like biting into a juicy berry.
  • Only a Few Ingredients – You don’t need a long shopping list to make this. Just strawberries, water, and maybe a little sweetener or lemon juice, and you’re good to go.
  • Fun to Customize – Want it sweeter? Add sugar or maple syrup. Want it tangy? Squeeze in some lemon. You can even mix it with other fruits like orange or pineapple for new flavors.
  • Great Any Time of Day – It’s a perfect morning beverage, afternoon refresher, or even a pretty party drink. Serve it over ice, and it feels extra special.
  • Kid- and Crowd-Friendly – Everyone loves strawberry juice, from kids to adults. It’s a fun, colorful drink that looks just as good as it tastes.

Star Ingredient – The Simple Strawberry!

These heart-shaped berries are not only beautiful, but they’re super healthy, too. Here are some tips for using this fruity ingredient to its best advantage:

  • Pick Ripe and Sweet – Ripe strawberries give your juice the best flavor and natural sweetness. Look for bright red berries with no green or white spots. If yours aren’t super sweet, you can balance the flavor with a little sugar, maple syrup, agave nectar, or vegan honey.
  • Wash and Hull First – Give your strawberries a good rinse to remove dirt or residue. Then pop off the green tops (called hulling) before blending. If strawberries aren’t available, you can use raspberries or blueberries for a fun twist.
  • Fresh or Frozen Works – Fresh strawberries are always great, but frozen berries are just as tasty and convenient. Plus, they make your juice extra cold and slushy without adding ice. If using frozen, let them thaw a little so they blend smoothly.
  • Balance the Flavor – Strawberries can sometimes taste a little flat on their own. A splash of lemon or lime juice brightens the flavor and makes the juice more refreshing. Orange juice (like in this orange juice smoothie) also works as a sweet, citrusy substitute.
  • Sweeten to Taste – Not all strawberries are equally sweet, so taste your juice before serving. If you’d rather skip sweeteners, mix in a few chunks of ripe pineapple for natural sweetness.

What Months Are Strawberries in Season?

Good question! June is usually the time when strawberries ripen. But, with new frost-resistant varieties on the market today, the season could last from January to June. This is the perfect recipe to make at the end of strawberry picking season when the berries are super ripe and ready to go.

Are Organic Strawberries Better?

Strawberries are almost always listed as Number 1 in the Dirty Dozen list. If you’re able to afford organic strawberries, we would highly recommend it. But, if not in your budget or you just can’t find any in your area, don’t worry too much about it. Consider growing your own or visit your local farmer’s market for the most delicious, delicate berries.

How To Make Strawberry Juice

You’ll be amazed at how easy it is to make your own fresh juice. Keep in mind that you need a lot of beautiful berries to make a mugful of juice. Get a few family members or friends to help with the hulling.

Step 1: Prep the Strawberries – Rinse the strawberries, remove the green tops, and slice them in half.

Step 2: Juice Them Up – Turn on your juicer and add the strawberries. Collect the juice in a pitcher or bowl.

Finally, Step 3: Add Flavor and Serve – Stir in a little agave nectar and a squeeze of lime, if you like. Pour over ice, garnish with fruit slices, and enjoy!

  • Strawberry Orange Juice – Add one or more large, happy, heavy (means more juice) oranges for a merry, mouthwatering mixture. Tangerines or Sumo Citrus would work well, too!
  • Strawberry Watermelon Juice – Add watermelon to the mix and you’ve got the perfect summertime beverage!

Serving Tips and Suggestions for Sweet Strawberry Juice

These tips and ideas will help you get the most out of your homemade strawberry juice. From fun serving twists to simple ways to store it, you’ll be sipping and enjoying it in all kinds of delicious ways.

  • Dessert Drizzle – Reduce the juice a little on the stove and drizzle it over vegan cake, fruity pancakes, or dairy-free ice cream. It makes any vegan dessert extra special.

Fresh Strawberry Juice Q&A

How do I store any leftover strawberry juice recipe?

Fresh strawberry juice lasts up to 3 days in the fridge, and it’s normal if it separates—just give it a shake before drinking. You can also freeze it in an ice cube tray, then store the cubes in a freezer bag for up to 6 months.

Oh no! I don’t have a juicer. Can I still make this recipe?

No juicer, no problem! Simply use a blender to blend the strawberries together and pour through a fine mesh strainer, cheesecloth, or nut milk bag to obtain the juice. Then, add in the sweetener. You may have a bit less liquid compared to juicing, but you can use more strawberries to increase the volume.

If I don’t have fresh strawberries on hand, is it possible to use frozen?

If you only have frozen strawberries, thaw them overnight in the fridge. There’s no need to slice them before juicing because they will be extra soft. If you wish to save a step, you can even buy sweetened frozen strawberries to use in this recipe. They tend to be very sweet, so you may want to use a small container of fresh (or unsweetened) strawberries along with them.

I try to avoid added sugar in my diet. How can I sweeten this juice naturally?

You can easily replace all of the added sweetener in the recipe by juicing 3 cups (around 3 small) of sweet apples (washed and sliced thickly) along with the strawberries. The best apples to use include Fuji, Gala, Ambrosia, or Juici.
