"How Did We Get Here?" Advancement - Minecraft: Java Edition

If you look at the wiki, the "How did we get here?" (HDWGH for short) advancement is basically just "Furious Cocktail" with the addition of several effects. The problem is, Levitation, Mining Fatigue, and Wither will be very difficult to obtain at once, and I cannot think of a better way to do it than find an end city with a gateway near it, then teleport to your spawn which you have set up next to an ocean monument with a wither skeleton nearby.

Any suggestions?

The Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird would be able to cross the entire Minecraft world in just shy of 17 hours.

You could move a wither skeleton and elder guardian to the End. But unless you're willing to build a bridge to transport them all the way to the end cities, you'll still have to use the gateways. Perhaps save getting shot by a shulker for last?

Seriously not worth 100 experience, but definitely an accomplishment in its own right.

Interesting finding this topic on the forum. There is an easier way, but by no means "easy". It should save you a heck of time to the extent you should avoid transporting mobs outside of their native dimension - moving Shulkers around is a great hassle.

Here's a video I uploaded that explains the thought process behind it. I do plan on attempting this. Sounds like fun!

- Brief steps (below) 1. Obtain all items needed for the 15/19 effects. 2. Kill Ender Dragon and Wither. Build Haste beacon in End City. 3. Locate a Shulker. This should be near the beacon. Obtain three more Wither Skulls for a second Wither. 4. Find an Ocean Monument and link to Stronghold (with Nether Portals if needed). 5. Obtain Mining Fatigue from Ocean Monument and travel back to End City. 5 minute timer starts now. 6. Summon second Wither near Shulker. Obtain Levitation and Wither near the Haste beacon.

Resistance was just added to the required effects, but it doesn't change much. You can add a second beacon, or just eat an enchanted golden apple.

Get all the effects woth potions/items, transport a shulker to the overworld with a flying ship with a boat to a sea temple and spawn the wither. Done.

Click the dragon/egg that is on top to help me raise my dragons

So this advancement now really throws people in a loop, apparently, because they tossed in dolphin's grace as well, and good luck playing with water all the way to your local end city. Bedrock people have it very slightly harder as well with slow falling being a thing, I don't think that's required in Java.

My plan, assuming I was suicidal enough to attempt this:

Change spawn to be next to ocean monument, pen in dolphins nearby, build conduit AND beacon in area as well.

Get enchanted golden apple, spectral arrow(s), all potions, rotten flesh, wither building ingredients, elytra with rocket fuel, bow with punch ii and extra regular arrows.

Go to an End City near a gateway (as suggested above). Try to get extra shulkers to teleport to wherever you're starting off from.

Apply, in order, wither boss, E-golden apple, all potion effects, rotten flesh, levitation. Fly to gateway and shoot yourself into the home portal. Go to the monument and pray the elder guardians notice you in the ten or so seconds you have until the levitation, wither, and hunger wear out.

...Is this even possible???

Well, if you can get a Wither Rose (from a Wither Boss killing any mob) you can just plant that and use that to get Wither. Sorry, I had just noticed that nobody had mentioned it. It doesn't help much with the challenge, but at least it's slightly easier.

Has anyone actually gotten this in 1.15+ legit?

Tried this all week and some effects are too short this advancement is impossible in 1.15. w/o cheating

For blindness you have to use a Suspicios Stew which you can milk from Brown Mooshrom.

Glowing with a spectral arrow.

Absorption, Fire Resistance , regeneration from enchanted Enchanted Golden apple.

Slow falling with a potion.

I was able to do it recently. The trick is making sure you are hungry enough to eat all the relevant foods and do so while standing on a wither rose right after getting dolphins grace and levitation. Most of the rest of the effects can be gotten with potions that last long enough.
