WandaVision has been airing on Disney+ for the past few months as the first project in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's phase four. However, viewers will be wondering how many episodes there will be and when the remainder will be released. Express.co.uk has all you need to know the show’s release schedule.

How many episodes are in WandaVision?

WandaVision has been highly anticipated ever since Disney first confirmed it would be launching several new live-action series based in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The series brings back the much-loved characters of Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) or Scarlet Witch and Vision (Paul Bettany) with a unique twist.

From the trailer and first looks, the pair will seemingly be appearing in several different sitcom scenarios through the ages.

Each sitcom will seem them as “two super-powered beings living idealized suburban lives,” according to the synopsis.

However, Disney+ also teases they will soon “begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.”

In total, there will be nine episodes for fans to enjoy of the new series.

However, as is usual with Disney+ shows, these will be airing weekly.

The first two episodes will be made available on Friday, January 15.

In terms of when exactly they will be available, the show will be airing at midnight PT.

This means fans in the UK will have to wait until 8am GMT in order to be able to watch it.

After this, the series will begin airing weekly on Disney+ as new episodes launch each Friday morning. Here’s a full release schedule.

Plot details have been very scarce so far but fans will be intrigued to learn what the series is all about.

This is especially the case as in the MCU, Vision is currently dead after his character was killed twice in Avengers: Infinity War.

In the tense battle against Thanos (Josh Brolin), he died after the evil warlord took the Mind Stone from his head.

Viewers last saw Wanda in Avengers: Endgame when she was seen mourning the loss of her love.

Going into the new series, we know it is set post-Endgame but it’s not yet clear how these characters come into these new circumstances.

Speaking about the show to Disney, head writer Jac Schaeffer said: “It picks up shortly after Avengers: Endgame.

“Marvel fans have never seen Wanda and Vision in this way before.

“Their storyline has been so romantic and tragic - fans have really latched onto it.

“But really, it’s been precious little screen time, and it’s all been very fraught.

“In this show, we get to see them in a domestic light, and it gets to breathe. It’s really beautiful.”

Alongside Bettany and Olsen, the series also stars Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, who was introduced in Captain Marvel.

Other cast members include Kathryn Hahn as Agnes, Randall Park as Jimmy Woo and Kat Dennings as Darcy.

Marvel fans will know the latter two have already been introduced in the universe with Woo appearing in Ant Man and Darcy in Thor.

However, just how they will fit into this new world remains to be seen.

WandaVision airs on Disney+ on Fridays.
