Pulled pork is synonymous with barbecue in many parts of the country. The tender meat and tangy flavor is a staple at family reunions and parties of all sizes, particularly outdoor gatherings. When you're serving food to a sizable group of 30 to 40 people, you'll want to crunch your numbers carefully to make sure you've bought enough meat for everyone.

Plan on serving up 12 pounds of pulled pork for a luncheon group of 30 to 40 guests. If it's a dinner crowd, bump up the serving portion size and prepare at least 13 to 17 pounds of cooked meat.
