How Old Is Elvis Presley?

Elvis Presley was undoubtedly one of the most influential and the most unforgettable singers of the 20s century. Known as the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley was a legend and a star who still has millions of fans around the world, with some of them still not believing in his death and waiting for his second coming out. Presley was born and grew up in Mississippi, and began his musical career by singing in a local church choir. As a teenager, he was quite unsocial and always preferred learning to play guitar to spending time with his peers. He liked listening to all kinds of music, starting with country or pop and ending up with gospels. In 1954 he came to a recording company to record two songs to give those to his mom as a gift, but as a result, he attracted the attention of a local producer Sam Philips. Together with two other musicians, Presley became a member of Blue Moon Boys band, which was bravely experimenting with the music style and considered to be one of the pioneers or rockabilly and rock-and-roll. The singles like "Heartbreak Hotel", "Love Me Tender", "All Shook Up", "Hound Dog" and, finally, "Jailhouse Rock" have changed the world's music and influenced a great number of musicians.

The success was really incredible and it opened the way for Elvis to various TV shows, theater stages, and even Hollywood movies. He developed his absolutely unique and special style in his clothing, his brand movements, behavior, and lifestyle. In 1958 Elvis was called for his military duty and was sent to Germany, where he rather traveled and was spending his money. In Europe, he met Priscilla Beaulieu, who later on became his wife and the mother of his only daughter. In 1960, Elvis was back to the US and recorded a very good album Elvis Is Back which rose to the first lines of the charts on both sides of the Atlantic ocean. However, just 2 years later the world had started being covered by the wave of the Beatlemania, making Elvis play the less important role in the world's music. In the 1960s he released a few albums but was more focused on acting. His album of 1969 From Elvis in Memphis had a new sound and turned public attention back to Elvis the King. The early 1970s were marked with plenty of concerts and touring, which brought to serious health problems and nervous exhaustion. As a result, in August 1977 Presley was found dead in his house in Memphis. He was only 42 years old, but the contribution of this talented singer and musician in modern music is impossible to underestimate.
