Katy Perry, born Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, is an American singer, songwriter, dancer, and artist. She was born in 1984 in California and grew up in a family of two Christian activists, Keith and Mary Hudson. Katy has two siblings, and her childhood involved frequent moves as her family searched for a better life. She made her stage debut at the age of 15 when she recorded her first demo songs with the guidance of Steve Thomas.
