Sylvester Stallone, 76, was born on July 6, 1946, in New York City.

He is an actor well-known for his portrayal of:

• Rocky, in the film series that went on from 1976 and 2006.
• John Rambo, in the five Rambo films, which came out between 1982 and 2019
• Barney Ross, in the three The Expendables films between 2010 and 2014.

Impressively, he wrote or co-wrote most of the 14 films in all three of these franchises, and also directed the movies.

The Rocky film props have been placed in the Smithsonian museum, and Stallone was voted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2010.

Stallone created the iconic character Robert “Rocky” Balboa for the Rocky series and played him in all six films.

He starred in Rocky I to V from 1976-1990, followed by Rocky Balboa in 2006.

He reprised the role in 2015 for Creed and received his first Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor.

The eighth film, Creed II, was released in 2018.

On February 19, 2018, a rumor that Sly was dead swept the internet once again – 18 months after it first surfaced.

Facebook users reported seeing a fraudulent message in September 2016 claiming the actor had been found dead at his LA home.

But the rumor returned to social media a year and a half later.

The return of the hoax appears to have been sparked by the release of a poster for Creed II.

The Facebook message was linked to a website known for creating and sharing celebrity death hoaxes. The site was also responsible for previous death hoaxes involving Vin Diesel, Nicolas Cage, Jaden Smith, Jim Carrey, Angelina Jolie and John Cena.

Stallone himself posted on social media to confirm he was still alive and urged his fans to “ignore” such stupidity.
