How To Catch Munchlax In Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl

Munchlax is a normal-type Pokemon in the Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl game. You will find Munchlax in the Grand Underground’s hideaway/Biome after you have unlocked the “Defog” hidden move. This guide shows how to reach the grand underground and the underground hideaway/ Biome, how to unlock the “Defog” Hidden Move, and where you will find Munchlax.

Unlock “Defog” Hidden Move

Defog clears away any fog on the field, as well as Light Screen, Reflect, Safeguard, Mist, Spikes, Toxic Spikes, and Stealth Rock.

Head to Pastoria City and go to Great Marsh Gate building. Talk to the receptionist on the left, to take part in the Great Marsh Safari Zone. This move will cost a small fee to purchase.

Enter the game, and talk to the green-haired NPC, you can find her standing on the right side. After that, you’ll be able to use the “Defog” move from your Poketch to clear away the fog that hinders your progress.

Where to Find Munchlax

There is a total of 18 hideaways/Biomes in the Grand Underground. You will find Aipom in Spacious Cave, Grassland Cave, Whiteout Cave, Riverbank Cave, Still-water Cavern. These caverns can be identified on the minimap by their icon shown in the picture below. How to Evolve Munchlax to Snorlax

Munchlax requires a high level of friendship to evolve. You can increase the friendship level in a number of ways. The Soothe Bell is a useful item that can increase friendship levels. A Pokémon equipped with the Soothe Bell will gain 50% more friendship, quickly increasing their ranking. Also, feed Munchlax with food it likes 

You can see how high a Pokemon’s Friendship stat is with the Poketch’s Friendship Checker app. Having two hearts will mean that a Pokemon is very close to you and has reached max Friendship value.
