You must have the right type of cell phone and cell phone plan to be able to provide the Internet to your other devices.

Purchase the correct type of cell phone from your cell phone provider. Only the newest makes and models, like the iPhone 4G, Verizon Droid, or other newer models can become a Wi-Fi hotspot. Ask before you purchase a phone, because only a few providers and phones can do this.

Sign up for the correct type of cellphone service. You will need to have a 3G or 4G network. Some providers will have different names for the network or set up that you need to have. So, ask about providing an Internet hotspot, and make sure that both your phone and your service will work to provide Internet hotspots.

Turn on your phone and turn on the Wi-Fi hotspot, if needed.

Turn on your Wii and click the "Wii Home" button on the lower right hand side of your screen. Choose "Internet Connections"

Click "Add a new connection" and wait for the Wii to discover the Wi-Fi put out by your phone. Click on that connection and choose "Connect."
