How to Destroy Anti-Aircraft Guns

Far Cry 6 first asks players to destroy anti-aircraft guns and military targets as part of the main story in Libertad Rises, which is the 7th Operation.

Beyond that mission, players will head to mainland Yara, where AA guns cover much of the land in “no-fly zones.” Destroying these anti-aircraft weapons will be incredibly important to make sure you can use everything to take down the regime.

When you are looking around Yara’s map (check out our fully interactable map of Yara here), you’ll see red circles and prominent Anti-Aircraft Site markers, so click on them to set markers to guide you to your target.

When you are flying around the map (perhaps with the fantastic Angelito FW Turbo), another sign there is an anti-aircraft gun nearby is that you’ll be radioed by air traffic control or military forces. You'll also permanently see the AA Gun circles on the Map until you land.

A red banner will also pop up on the screen telling you that enemies are preparing to shoot you down, your minimap will be surrounded by red, and the name of the anti-aircraft gun base will be displayed in the lower left corner.

When this occurs, lower your flying height until you are very close to the ground (or revert to driving mode if you are in the Angelito), which will lower you beneath the radar, allowing you to continue flying. Use this technique to get close to the base, then hop out of your vehicle.

Anti-Aircraft Gun installations are typically very lightly guarded, if there are any soldiers stationed nearby at all.

Approach and hit the large gun with an explosive weapon of some kind. Dynamite works wonders, so throw one at the base of the giant turret and the anti-aircraft gun will be destroyed, letting you roam the skies free of enemy fire!

AA Guns are often (but not always) guarded by a turret, which you can use to destroy the AA Gun if you forgot to pack some explosives with you.
