Open the friendship app, which shows the player's current party roaming around the screen, then press and hold the interact button on Chingling to check the friendship level. The more hearts that appear, the higher the friendship level is. Two hearts indicates the Pokémon has reached the max friendship level, so Chingling will definitely evolve if it has two hearts.

The last step is to wait until nighttime and level Chingling up. As long as the friendship is high enough, Chingling will evolve into Chimecho the first time it levels at night.
