How to Get Fine Wood

Fine wood is a crafting material that is obtained by cutting down Birch and Oak trees, which can be found within the Meadows and Plains biomes. Before you can start chopping down Birch and Oak trees you will require a Bronze Axe or higher. To craft a Bronze Axe you will need the following materials: x4 Wood, x8 Bronze, and x2 Leather Scraps.

You can find a complete guide on obtaining Bronze bars here, as well as a detailed guide on finding the both the Tin and Copper ore that is require to smelt a Bronze bar here.

Alternatively, if you have yet to craft a Bronze Axe you can also loot Fine wood from Shipwrecks that can be found along the coasts of the Black Forest biome. Unlike Birch and Oak trees, dismantling shipwrecks for their Fine wood only requires the use of a Stone axe, making this a very viable method for those looking to skip over the need to craft Bronze items early on in the game.
