How to get SAP on Extintion?

So i just discovered that u can place Wooden Tree Platforms and/or Tree Taps on the big trees from the Funken Forest (where it is suposed to be placed). And from what the players from my server said, no one can, it just doesnt find a spot to snap. So how do u get sap on the new DLC? Only from Gacha Crystals? I live on the Desert, and whithout a cryopod its impossible for me to bring a gacha back to base...are there no other solutions?

Is there a terminal in the forest and one in the desert? Could get Gacha there that way. I know there's terminal's in snow. As far as sap, I'm not sure yet. Will probably try to get to that today.

In the desert... Farm the trees that give sap, they are the same as on SE.

I don't know what they are called.

They don't have many leaves, only the ends of the branches are green. The leaves/needles look a little bit like the puffy thingies cheerleaders use.

Just to note, Gachas can be an excellent source of regular sap and the red+blue "gem replacement" sap.
