Do you need to reset your Bose Color Soundlink speaker? Resetting it to factory settings is useful in many situations, like if it won't pair with another device. This wikiHow will show you how to reset the Bose Color Soundlink across all models. Note that factory resetting your speaker will remove any data or customizations, like pairing information and language settings.

Reset a Bose Color Soundlink

If you have the original Bose Color Soundlink speaker, press and hold the Aux and - (Volume Down) buttons simultaneously for 15 seconds. If you have the Soundlink Color Bluetooth Speaker II, press and hold the Power button for 10 seconds. Release the button combinations after you hear a tone or prompt.

1. 1 Press the Aux and - buttons. You should find these buttons on the top side of the speaker.
   • This model was sold between 2014 and 2019.
2. 2 Hold the buttons down for 15 seconds.
   • You will hear a tone.

1. 1 Press and hold the Power button. It should be at the top of the speaker in the far corner. This speaker doesn't have an AUX button like the OG counterpart.
   • The speaker should be on before you reset it.
2. 2 Hold the button for 10 seconds. You'll see the Bluetooth light blink blue, and a voice prompt will ask you to select a language.
3. 3 Release the Power button. Pick a language, and your speaker will reset![2]

1. 1 What if the factory reset isn't working? You might need to try a hard reset, which means you need to:
   • Plug it into a power source
   • Press and hold the Play/Pause button for 15 seconds.
   • Disconnect it from power
   • Release the Play/Pause button
   • Reconnect it to power
2. 2 What do I do if the speaker won't turn on? Make sure you're using the power supply that came with your speaker. Using another may cause it not to work.
   • You should also plug it in with an AC cord instead of using the battery if that's the case (if you have had it for a long time, the battery could have decayed so much that it won't run on battery power alone).
   • If the speaker hasn't been used for at least 14 days or more, it starts Battery Protection Mode, to preserve the battery. To get out of Battery Protection Mode, connect to A/C power, and the system will reactivate.[3]
3. 3 How do I connect the Bose SoundLink Mini to my smartphone or tablet? Plug in and turn on your Bose Soundlink Mini, then press the Bluetooth button until the lights flash blue. In your phone's Bluetooth settings, tap the speaker to connect it. When successfully connected, the speaker will make a chime noise.

   • Make sure the speaker is updated
   • Reset it following the above steps
   • Make sure you're connecting to the correct Bluetooth device.
