2. Factory Reset a Sonos Product
Resetting a Sonos product to its factory default settings will delete its registration information, all the saved favorites and music services. If you need to reset multiple products, you will need to perform this procedure for each one separately. Resetting all products within your system will permanently delete all your data.
The process of resetting a Sonos product is as follows:
Reset Instructions for All Products (Except Sonos Move)
- Unplug the power cord, either from your Sonos product or the electrical outlet.
- Depending on which product you have, press and hold the Join, Play/Pause or Mute button. Find your model in the list below and then begin holding that button.
- Join Button (New Style)
- You can find this button on the:
- Amp
- Beam
- Boost
- One
- Playbase
- Play:5 (Gen 2)
- Port
- Play/Pause Button
- You can find this button on the:
- Play:1
- Play:3
- Play:5 (Gen 1)
- Playbar
- Mute Button
- You can find this button on the:
- Connect
- Connect:Amp
- Join Button (Old Style)
- You can find this button on the:
- Bridge
- Sub
- Reconnect the power cord while still holding the button.
- Release the button when the light starts flashing orange and white.
- The Sonos product is now ready to be set up again.
Reset Instructions for Sonos Move
Move is the battery powered speaker in the Sonos lineup. Because of this, the process of resetting it is slightly different:
- Remove the speaker from the charging base.
- Press and hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn it off.
- Press and hold the Join button.
- Place the speaker back onto the charging base while still holding the button.
- Release the button when the light starts flashing orange and white.
- The Sonos Move is now ready to be set up again.
