Just about everything is soldered on so not many ribbon type connectors to come loose.but everything working fine. Should I be worried? Please guide as I'm really worried and dont have plans to change the Macbook for least 2 3 years. Click to expand...

Sep 13, 2015 2,274 2,310 San Antonio Texas A book shelf fell off the wall above my desk about a month or so after I had bought my i5/8/512 Air. Fortunately my MacBook was there to break its fall from about 5 feet. Got a nice little ding in it. I was beside myself for about a week. Then I put a skin on it and a sticker and its good as new.slplss

Apr 22, 2009 662 345 MacBook Pro Early 2011, in 2014 was in a backpack, and set down on the driveway. A car ran over the bachpack, squarely over the part that had the Mac. Mac was compressed enough that the CD-ROM Drive [what's that? ;-) ] was pressed together enough that a CD could not clear the space. The screen was cracked, but the Mac booted up and seemed ok. Repair consisted of going to an independent repair shop to get the screen replaced ($100), and my taking a flat-blade screwdriver to the CD-ROM Drive and spreading it's entrance apart. Afterwards, everything worked fine (including the CD-ROM Drive). As I write this, my wife is next to me working with this 10-year old machine, which I have self-upgraded over time with a new battery and more memory.leons
