How to calculate square inches?

First, determine the length of the area in inches. To determine the area of any shape, the length and width of the perimeter must be known. In this example, the length is measured to be 50 inches.

Next, measure the total width also in inches. For this example, the width is measured to be 10 inches.

It’s important to note that square inches can be calculated from any other unit of an area using conversion. For example, if the length and width are provided in feet, multiply them together and then divide by 144 to get square inches.
