If you find a pickaxe or a sledgehammer however you can mine boulders or big rocks and craft little stones. Once you mined rocks just drag them over the pickaxe or sledgehammer (inventory) to make little stones. #1 Saint View Profile View Posts 29 Sep, 2020 @ 11:13pm hey fellow survivor. i know your pain! ive played dayZ for years and still can die 15 min after i spawn from thirst or hunger LOL. I just wanted to tell you same thing i tell all my friends starting out, DayZ will try to kill you the entire time you play, and it can get very frustrating but once you get past the freshy stage (gear,food, and water) then thats when i think Dayz really starts (for me anyways). Small stones and mushrooms have a proximity timer, if you hang around an area for a while they start appearing, and soon you'll have plenty. Downside: Hanging around an area on the coast as a freshy with a only a lead pipe and a few rags will soon get you killed. Exactly. First thing you do after spawn is to run to the well to drink some. You do this by locating your position on the map.You dont know where you are..?Its ok 99% times you spawn close to towns. Get inside, find signs showing town names etc.Find water pomp. Its inside almost every town somewhere.If you know what town your in but cant find water pomp use izurvive map from internet.It will show you exact location of it.After drinking some pick up all pans, jackets etc, you will need to make 12 rags of them to then make rope of it or even find rope on the way.And whats on the way..? After drinking go to forest near by.Find small walking trails.Go up for 3 min then down, there small stones will spawn.You need 2 to craft improvised knife.Then having a knife go back to town, find a chicken, locate it by sound it makes.Towns have 3 or 4 chickens inside.Kill it skin it with a knife.Now you have meat and bones.Using knife craft improvised fishing hook. Or better make 2.Using knife or any other tool to make 12 rags from stuff you picked up earlier..Now craft rope.Get close to any big bushes not trees and brake it down with your hands untill you se long stick on the ground.Now using that stick and rope craft improvised fishing rod.Using knife aim on the ground around grass area to dig out worms. Dig out 4 or more.Put them on improvised fishing hook and put that ♥♥♥♥ on fishing rod.Go back to the coast and start fishing.
