The Small Stone is a type of equipment in DayZ.

They can be found on the trails, non-paved roads and along train tracks.

Small Stones can be obtained from static boulders and rocks in the environment with a Crowbar, Pipe Wrench, Meat Tenderizer, Screwdriver or Wrench. You can also produce them by first using a Pickaxe, Hammer, Mace or Sledgehammer to mine Large Stones from boulders, and then split them with your tool into Small Stones.

It is possible to craft a Stone Knife with 2 Small Stones but you will keep one Small Stone after the crafting is complete, you can also craft them with 1 Small Stone and a big rock.
