Key Items are important multi-use items to get through the game. Some items aren't needed to progress, but they are still very useful. Key Items that can be found in every Pokemon game are Fishing Rods, the Bicycle, and the Dowsing Machine.
Any Key Item can be registered to the Y button on your 3DS for quick use.

A foldable bike that's slower than the Mach Bike, but has the ability to hope over narrow bridges and up stepping stones that lead across different elevations.
Clear Bell
Slateport City Harbor
A Bell that is used to find Ho-Oh in Sea Mauville. It can be obtained after giving the Scanner to Captain Stern in the Slateport Harbor.
Contest Costume
Slateport City
A very cool suit to be worn during the Contest Spectacular.
Contest Pass
Slateport City
A pass required for entering Pokemon Contests. It has a drawing of an award ribbon on its front.
Devon Scope
Route 120 from Steven
Use this to see invisible Kecleon around Hoenn.
Devon Scuba Gear
Mossdeep City from Steven
Allows you to dive into underwater trenches with your Pokemon. A Pokemon must first know HM07 Dive.
DNA Splicers
Mirage Spot when catching Kyurem
Use this to alter Kyurem's form. Must have Kyurem and a Zekrom or Reshiram to make Black Kyurem or White Kyurem.
Dowsing Machine
Route 110
This high-tech machine shows the location of invisible items. It's attached to the head when in use.
Eon Flute
Sootopolis City - Given to you by Steven
Allows you to Soar on Latios or Latias.
Eon Ticket
StreetPass or Special Events
Allows you to take a ferry from Lilycove City to Southern Island.
Exp Share
Petalburg Woods
Spreads Experience Points and Effort Values earned in battle throughout all Pokemon in the party.
Go-Googles
Lavaridge Town After Gym.
Nifty goggles to protect eyes from desert sandstorms (Route 111).
Good Rod
Fisherman on the east side of Route 118
Use it at any body of water to fish for wild aquatic Pokemon.
Gracidea
Route 123 Berry Master's House
Use this item between 5AM and 8PM to alter Shaymin's Form.
Mach Bike
Mauville City Bike Shop
A foldable bike that allows you to get around at high speeds and roll right up steep slopes.
Mega Bracelet
Route 118 given to you by Steven
A special bracelet with a Key Stone that allows you to Mega Evolve Pokemon when they are holding a matching Mega Stone.
Meteorite
Mt. Chimney
A Meteorite originally found at Meteor Falls. You got it at Mt. Chimney.
Old Rod
Dewford Town
An old and beat-up fishing rod. Use it at any body of water to fish for wild aquatic Pokemon.
Oval Charm
Littleroot Town Pokemon Lab after completing the Hoenn Pokedex
An oval charm said to increase the chance of Pokemon Eggs being found at the Day Care.
Pokeblock Kit
Slateport City
A set containing a Berry Blender for making Pokeblocks and a Pokeblock Case for storing Pokeblocks.
Reveal Glass
Mauville City Mirror Shop
Alters the forme of Tornadus, Thundurus, or Landorus.
Scanner
Sea Mauville Basement
A device that Captain Stern is looking for. Trade it for a Clear Bell or Tidal Bell. It is hidden in the basement engine room of the Sea Mauville.
Shiny Charm
Littleroot Town Pokemon Lab after completing the National Pokedex
A shiny charm said to increase the chance of finding a Shiny Pokemon in the wild.

An amazing device that can record a battle between friends or the battles at certain special battle facilities.
Wailmer Pail
Route 104 Pretty Pail Flower Shop
This is a tool for watering Berries you planted to make them grow more quickly.
