What Pokemon Can You Catch With A Super Rod In ... - ItStillWorks
Maybe your like
The fishing rod has always played an essential role in the "Pokemon" series, and "Pokemon Alpha Sapphire" is certainly no different. Once you secure yourself the Super Rod, the types of Pokemon you can catch get even better than before. The type of Pokemon you'll find wandering will depend on where you're searching. These steps will also apply for "Omega Ruby," "Ruby" and "Sapphire" players.
Catching a Wailmer
Known for powerful Water-type attacks like Hydro Pump and Psychic attacks like Amnesia, Wailmer employs a nice range of attacks for just a Water-type Pokemon. This Pokemon swims around Pacifidlog Town and Ever Grande City at between levels 30 and 45, or you can fish for a slightly younger level 25 Wailmer in Lilycove City.
Fishing for Sharpedo
Level 30 to 35 Sharpedo swim in Mossdeep City, and you'll need the Super Rod to catch one for yourself. A Water- and Dark-type Pokemon, Sharpedo actually only uses one water attack, Aqua Jet, but the tutors in Mauville City can teach it Water Pulse as well. Sharpedo relies on its Dark side more often, resorting to moves like Crunch and Night Slash at levels 40 and 62, respectively.
Staryu Fishing Locations
You can only find a wild Water-type Staryu waiting in Lilycove City once you have the Super Rod, and even then it's not guaranteed; you're far more likely to find a few Wailmer before you find your first Staryu due to its low rate. When you do catch the level 20 to 25 Pokemon, it can have a few powerful moves like Bubble Beam and Brine. Take Staryu to the top and it'll start learning Psychic attacks, such as Light Screen at level 46.
Snagging a Luvdisc
Level 30 to 35 Luvdisc swim around in Ever Grande City, though they will have to compete against Wailmer and Corsola for the bait. Another pure Water-type, Luvisc resembles a sideways heart and can learn a few more Water attacks than others you can catch. One particularly useful move is Sweet Kiss, a Fairy-type that confuses an opponent during the battle.
Wild Corsola Locations
Corsola also appears in Ever Grande City between levels 30 and 35. It might not be the first Pokemon you find due to its low appearance rate, but the Water- and Rock-type Pokemon promises a damaging set of moves once you do catch one. Power Gem is one example Rock-type move that can help turn the tide of a battle; this appears at level 41.
Finding Corphish
Using the Super Rod in Petalburg City guarantees you a Corphish between levels 20 and 45. This Water-type features a few Dark-type moves in its arsenal, including the intimidating Taunt and the occasionally-inaccurate but powerful Crabhammer at level 43.
Gyarados and Magikarp
In Sootopolis City, you have a small chance to catch a Gyarados, but you're actually more likely to catch a Magikarp instead. This wouldn't be the worst Pokemon to catch; after all, it does evolve into the much more powerful Water- and Dragon-type Gyarados starting at level 20.
