Driving me crazy. I've found several wrecks, found many fragments to various tools and equipment, but the laser cutter has eluded me. Have about 10 diamonds, too. So if you still can't find it, just useunlock lasercutter and put your dozens of diamonds to use.

Off in the wild world of experimental, of later they are turning basic items like the laser cutter and beacons into fragments. Imagine a brand new player trying to find a lot of wrecks or thermal vents again, without beacons, withoug a Compass, and without your wiki knowledge of the F1 button for coordinates. BAM, you've just added an extra hour or two onto your "Gameplay times of up to X hours!" Yes, even the compass is gated these days. It is also funny enough, the hardest to find databox in the entire game. I just saw Salinite post today that he thought the wreck and lifepod with the compass databox were REMOVED, because he couldn't find them. They are that hard to find even to veterans looking for them.They also removed the thermoter chip. There is no more way to have a thermomoter HUD aspect outside of vehicles. Which sounds all "Who cares LOL" until you are trying to place thermal plants around a vent. By not being an entitled impatient casual and finding the fragments, duh!I say that as a joke. I agree it's very odd and only serves to pad out the basics. So until such a time as they disable the console for no good reason, (hopefully not ever a thing) unlock those blueprints with it.I know I still go looking for the diamonds and such, as much out of being stubborn rather than any elitism. But these days every new game start for me, step one is "Spawn a welder" and "Spawn a compass". Because dozens of replays in, putting off patching up my lifepod and having the most basic of UI features out the door hardly ruins the experience. Yes experimental now requires you to find laser cutter fragments. I warped to every wreck I could Only thing I ever found were scanner room and bio reactor fragments in the grassy plateau wrecks. EDIT: Ok so I made a scanner room and there were 5 laser cutter fragments scattered in teh tall red grass, nowhere near the wrecks, and imposible to see without the scanner room pointing it out. It was in a wreck that had a vent on the side that I missed. I'm in the Ghost Update. Might be different for other people, though.Edit: Also found more laser cutter fragments in the last one ImHelping said (-432 -90 -268). Which is what I had suggested a while back.
