LaserCutterFragment The Laser Cutter is a tool crafted at the Fabricator. Fragments of the Laser Cutter must be scanned in order for its blueprint to be unlocked.
Its only function is opening sealed doors in Wrecks and the Aurora. It has an Energy level which can be replenished with a Battery.
When equipped, it emits light in a five-meter radius from the player.
Repeatedly pressing and holding down the action button for approximately one second at a time is faster than holding the button down, as the first animation in the Laser Cutter's cycle is faster than all others that follow.

Power Usage[]
Cutting open one sealed door will drain 17% of the charge of a normal battery. This means it can cut through five doors and nearly make it through a sixth before needing to replace the battery.

The ultra high frequency laser cutter is tuned specifically to cut through titanium and plasteel based materials at a thickness of up to 10cm. This makes it an essential tool for construction, salvage and rescue operations, but ineffective on natural obstacles.

Trivia[]
In previous versions of the game, the Laser Cutter was crafted at the Modification Station with a Repair Tool and a Diamond.
Previously, for every 2% of usage on an object, the Laser Cutter's battery percentage went down by 1%. Thus the player could get two objects opened before needing to replace the battery.
The PDA data bank entry can only be obtained by dropping and scanning a built Laser Cutter.
