Legendary Fish are special types of fish which are much more difficult to catch than regular ones. There are only five legendary fish in Stardew Valley, although during the quest Qi's Extended Family, a duplicate version of each is available specifically for the quest.

Legendary Fish

• Angler
• Crimsonfish
• Glacierfish
• Legend
• Mutant Carp

How to Catch the Legendary Fish

For each Legendary Fish, you need to be at a certain level and fish at a certain location. Below, you can find a breakdown of each Legendary Fish.

How to Catch the Angler

To catch the Angler, you need to be at least Fishing level 3 in Skills, although you can use buffs to achieve this. You need to stand on the north end of the river in Pelican Town, no more than 15 tiles from the edge. It can appear during any weather, but only during Fall.

How to Catch the Crimsonfish

	Lives deep in the ocean but likes to lay its eggs in the warm summer water.	Summer	East Pier on The Beach. Requires level 5 fishing.	Any	Any	Pole	-1500g-1875g-2250g-3000g	Legendary

To catch the Crimsonfish, you need to be at least Fishing level 5 in Skills, although again, you can use buffs to achieve this. You need to stand on the furthest east side of Pelican Beach, beyond the broken bridge. You must repair this with 300 wood to access the fishing spot; anywhere along the pier or close to the east coast will count, as long as your bobber is four tiles away from land. You'll have a small of getting a Crimsonfish on your line in the summer during any weather.

How to Catch the Glacierfish

To catch the Glacierfish, you need to be at least Fishing level 6 in Skills, but again, buffs can be used. In Cindersap Forest, there is only a single tile you may stand on; the southernmost tip of Arrowhead Island, and your bobber must be at least four tiles away from land. As long as it is Winter, you have a chance of the Glacierfish appearing.

How to catch the Legend

To catch the Legend, you need to be at least Fishing level 10 in Skills, though as you've probably guessed by now, you can use buffs. You need to be in the Mountains, and your bobber needs to be at least five tiles away from any land while in the lake. It also needs to be raining.

How to catch the Mutant Carp

There are no special requirements for unlocking the Mutant Carp, although you will need to have access to the Sewers. Every time you fish in the Sewers, you have a small chance of catching the Mutant Carp. It's available in the sewers all year around.

Legendary Fish and the Fish Pond

As of update 1.6.9, Legendary Fish can be added to your farm's fish pond. You'll add them to a pond the same way as any other fish, though they won't reproduce. The day after they're added the water color of the pond will change according to the fish added.

All unique legendary fish roe has the same stats and description:

• "Fresh fish eggs. These can be aged in a preserves jar to bring out more flavor."
• +50 Energy
• +22 Health

Qi's Extended Family Legendary Fish

• Angler becomes Ms Angler
• Crimsonfish becomes Son Of Crimsonfish
• Glacierfish becomes Glacierfish Jr
• Legend becomes Legend II
• Mutant Carp becomes Radioactive Carp
