Guide Index Overview Introduction Fishing Rod Fishing Bait Fishing Tackle Fishing Food My Personal Tips The Legend The Crimsonfish The Angler The Glacierfish The Mutant Carp Thanks For Reading! Comments Introduction    Hi guys, in this guide i'm going to show you how to catch every single legendary fish in the Stardew Valley. I'll show you some tips and tricks and where to find them all. Here we go!     Fishing Rod               So the first step you wanna do is purchasing the Iridium Rod. This rod is unlocked after fishing level 6 and it can only be bought from Willy's Fish Shop for 7.500g (Open Hours 9am to 5pm, closed on non-rainy saturdays). Its benefit is that you can use bait and a tackle at the same time, making it easier to catch. Fishing Bait     As a bait that your Iridium Rod should have is the Wild Bait which can only be crafted after having 4 hearts with Linus and enetring the mountain between 8PM and 12AM on a sunny or snowy day. But if you don't want to, you can just use the normal Bait which can be crafted or bought for 5g from Willy in the Fish Shop after fishing level 2.If you don't know what these baits do, they decrease the time taken for fish to bite and educes the delay before a nibble by 50% (when using the normal Bait) and 62.5% (when using the Wild Bait). Also the wild bait gives you a chance to catch 2 fish at once, but that's not really important since all of the legendary fish can only be caugh once per save file. Fishing Tackle                   Now the tackles. As I already said, tackles can only be attached to the Iridium Rod. The tackle that you should use when catching legendary fish is the Trap Bobber. This tackle is very important when catching these fish because he causes fish to escape slower when you aren't reeling them in. At fishing level 6 the trap bobber can be purchased from               Willy's Fish Shop for 500g, or crafted. Fishing Food   Now I'm recommending you should have fishing level 10 and also to use some food to improve your level for a bit. I was catching all of the legendary fish with level 11 by using the trout soup that you can buy from Willy, but if you have any difficulties with catching legendary fish I recommend you to cook Dish O' The Sea beacause it's very effective and really easy to get and cook (one tip: Reward for completing the Specialty Fish Bundle is 5x Dish O' The Sea). Since there's 10 dishes that have an effect on your fishing level, I'll write them below: Image Name Buff Buff Duration Ingredients Recipe Source Chowder Fishing (+1) 16m 47s Clam (1)Milk (1) Willy (Mail - 3+ hearts) Dish O' The Sea Fishing (+3) 5m 35s Sardine (2) Hashbrowns (1) Fishing Level 3 Escargot Fishing (+2) 16m 47s Snail (1)Garlic (1) Willy (Mail - 5+ hearts) Fish Stew Fishing (+3) 16m 47s Crayfish (1)Mussel (1)Periwinkle (1)Tomato (1) Willy (Mail - 7+ hearts) Fish Taco Fishing (+2) 7m Tuna (1)Tortilla (1)Red Cabbage (1)Mayonnaise (1) Linus (Mail - 7+ hearts) Lobster Bisque Fishing (+3) 16m 47s Lobster (1)Milk (1) The Queen of Sauce14 Winter, Year 2/Willy (Mail - 9+ hearts) Maple Bar Fishing (+1) 16m 47s Maple Syrup (1)Sugar (1)Wheat Flour (1) The Queen of Sauce14 Summer, Year 2 Seafoam Pudding Fishing (+4) 3m 30s Flounder (1)Midnight Carp (1)Squid Ink (1) Fishing (Level 9) Shrimp Cocktail Fishing (+1) 10m 2s Tomato (1)Shrimp (1)Wild Horseradish (1) The Queen of Sauce28 Winter, Year 2 Trout Soup Fishing (+1) 4m 39s Rainbow Trout (1)Green Algae (1) The Queen of Sauce14 Fall, Year 1     My Personal Tips     The next thing I want to tell you is how you can identify the legendary fish. When you first hook the fish, just look at the fish and if it has a crown on his head, you know it's a legendary one.One more thing you might find useful is when you're catching a fish and you know that it isn't a legendary one and you don't want to catch it, you can just press 'E' and it will discard that fish so you can continue to catch another one.Alrighty, now i showed you some tips and now is time to show you where and how to catch these legendary fish.      The Legend     So the first fish we're going to be focusing on is the Legend fish. Legend is a fish that can be caught during the spring in the mountain lake while raining. This fish has higher chance to be found near the log (on the picture down below) and can only be found when player has fishing level 10, either naturally or by using fishing buffs. Now since the 1.4 update came out, you're now only being able to catch this fish once per save file instead of multiple times. Legend might be the most rarest fish and also most expensive, if you catch this and decide to sell it off you can get maximum of 15.000g which makes this fish the most expensive item in Stardew Valley with a single sell price. That's everything about this fish and let's move on the next one.     The Crimsonfish    So the second legendary fish that i'm going to show you is the Crimson fish. The Crimson fish can only be caught in summer and it's caught on the right side of the beach with at least level 5 fishing. You do have to fix the bridge first though and that requires 300 wood, but you should be able to do that in your first month. This fish isn't hard to catch but it's hard to find. It doesn't require a rain or time, so you should be able to catch it relatively easily. Since it is a legendary fish, it can only be caught once per save file. The biggest sell price for this fish is 4.500g.         The Angler   Next we have the Angler fish and this is probably the easiest legendary fish to catch. This one is caught in fall and it's caught just north of the Jojo Mart. You should be able to catch it above the wooden plank bridge casting north with at least fishing level 3. Angler doesn't require any time limit or weather. As one of the legendary fish, you cannot catch it more than once per save file, If you decide to sell it, the maximum you can get is 2.700g.         The Glacierfish    The fourth fish on this list is the Glacierfish which is probably the second hardest fish in my opinion. This fish is caught during the winter time and it's found deep at the bottom of the small island in the Cindersap Forest. The weather or time doesn't effect this fish but it's hard to find and you do have to make sure you're catching this fish with at least fishing level 6. it's a legendary fish so you can catch it only once per save file. If you try to sell this fish the most money you can get is 2.250g.          The Mutant Carp    So last but not least i'll show you the Mutant Carp. This fish can be caught in the Sewers during any season any time, any weather and with any fishing level. The Sewers are a location unlocked by obtaining the Rusty Key after donating 60 items (artifacts or minerals) to the Museum (Gunther will give you the sewers key the next day). Sewers can be entered trough the sewer cover in south Pelican Town or through the grates of the south Cindersap Forest. Since again Mutant Carp is a legendary fish, it can only be caught once per save file. This fish is very simple to catch and it can't be sold for much money, only about 3.000g         Thanks For Reading!    I'm really thankful guys that you read my guide on how to catch these amazing legendary fish. Even though It took me more that it should to make this guide done :D Also, I apologize for my mistakes in english. I know it's not great, but trust me, I try my best. Now I just wanna wish you a good luck when catching these, because I know how challenging it can be. Have fun!     55 Comments < > steinar 25 Jan @ 7:21am glacierfish lowkey harder to catch than the legend mister_jedi 24 Sep, 2025 @ 4:29pm “Crimson fish isn’t hard to catch” my @$$ dude that little bugger is impossible. Phoenixia 20 Apr, 2021 @ 5:51pm Technically you can catch them multiple times but you have to be playing on the multiplayer maps. In singleplayer it is still only one per save file. HH [author] 24 Feb, 2021 @ 2:12pm @VinchenzoTheJackal & Shoon All right uff... First, don't tell me I haven't played this game in years. Second, this guide is not outdated. Third, the new legendary fish are literally just upgraded versions of the old ones and it's not necessary to catch them since they don't even contribute to the "catch all the fish" achievement or anything like that. So, no need to include them in this guide. And last, you can only catch them ONCE per save file. VinchenzoTheJackal & Shoon 24 Feb, 2021 @ 12:23pm Just letting you know, you haven't played this game in years, and your guide is outdated. There are also new Legendary Fish added to this game since you last made this guide. So yes, since you last played years ago, new Legendary Fish were added, and you can catch these fish more than once. VinchenzoTheJackal & Shoon 24 Feb, 2021 @ 12:19pm I never used mods before... < > Close Share to your Steam activity feed Link: You need to sign in or create an account to do that.
