Try this cooling, mango fruit lassi the next time you've gone too wild with the hot sauce. Mango, ice, ground cardamom, milk and yogurt, blended together until smooth. This Lassi would also of course be delicious for breakfast on a hot summer's day. See method

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe mangoes or 300g (10 oz) tinned mango pulp
  • 100ml (3 ½ fl oz) whole milk
  • 250ml (8 fl oz) natural yogurt
  • 3tsp sugar
  • 2 green cardamom pods, crushed and powdered
  • 6 ice cubes

Method

Try this cooling, mango fruit lassi the next time you've gone too wild with the hot sauce. Mango, ice, ground cardamom, milk and yogurt, blended together until smooth. This Lassi would also of course be delicious for breakfast on a hot summer's day.

  1. Peel the mangoes and cut them into small pieces. Discard the seed. Blend the mango pieces into a smooth pulp using a blender/mixer. If you are using tinned mango pulp, skip the above steps.
  2. Add the milk, yogurt, ice cubes and sugar to the pulp and blend again. Pour into tall glasses and garnish with cardamom powder. Serve chilled.
