bundyboy B Hi, we have an 05 plate Master that the airbag and service light stays on. We've plugged in to a reader that says fault code B1003, but comes up undocumented body code. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks #1 · Jul 8, 2010 Hi, we have an 05 plate Master that the airbag and service light stays on. Thanks Sort by Oldest first Oldest first Newest first Most reactions #2 · Jul 8, 2010 Have a look at the electrical connector under the front seats - a very common problem area on many Renaults.:) #13 · Jan 30, 2013 Thanks so much. that was the culprit. It made me a little cross. The connector had taken a bump or the contacts had furred over and that was enough for 'pull over and call the renault dealership. Grrr.' 1 Reply #3 · Mar 26, 2011 renault master Can anyone help me with a air bag error code /light B1003 #4 · Mar 26, 2011 Re: renault master Hello and welcome to the forum.:) I've merged your post into a thread concerning the same code on another Master in the hope that someone can help out. #5 · May 11, 2011 Hi I have the same lights on. They go off some times but not for long. Renault West told me it is a rotary switch apparently in the steering wheel and wanted £250 to fix it. I haven't had time to go elsewhere yet. Hey but I used drive before airbags were invented #6 · May 11, 2011 Had a look in the code library but it's not listed :( #7 · Jul 15, 2011 Hi B1003 = Airbag Locking Switch Circuit Configuration - Current Turn ignition off there may be a switch to enable/disable passenger air bag this fault relates to the switch being changed with ignition on. The switch should only be changed according to User instructions (key Off) #8 · Oct 29, 2011 Hi, I have fault with air bag and sevice indicator on also. I checked all connectors under seats and all are secure. Local garage charged me 40 to do diagnstics and inspect wires (which i had already done) They came up with fault codes B1003 and B1005 regarding n/s/f airbag open circuit and o/s/f buckle retractor/seatbelt pretensioner open circuit. I was told that they had cleared the fault and it light wasnt on but when picked up car later that day when garage was closed the bloody lights were still on. Needless to say ill be going back to get them to explain what they have/havent done. Any body got any similar experiences ideas. #9 · Oct 30, 2011 Hi,I had an independent garage check it out. They cleared it but it came straight back on. So it looks like I am going to have to fork out £240 to get this rotary switch replaced. I am about to sell the van.I have seen another van for sale just like mine and it too has an airbag light on. I reckon Renault know there is a problem and really they should be fixing this problem for free. Contact Renault UK and try talking them into paying for it or at least going halves 0 Reply #10 · Oct 30, 2011 hi as I said previously Renault say it is a rotary switch. I had it checked at another garage and same code B1003 Driver side front airbag igniter circuit #11 · Nov 2, 2011 Hi Just following the thread as I have the same problem but at the same time the MPG and miles to go on the computer are not working. Anybody else have the same problems? Steve #14 · Jun 25, 2014 I have the same problem, did you ever find out what the problem was, I see this is an old post…?? Show more replies 0 Reply #12 · Jan 11, 2012 I also have this fault on a 2006 trafic 1.9 dci 100. I know that it does not relate to any of the pretensioners as I swapped all 3 from a mates vivaro (he has no problems with his) with mine and still i had airbag and serv light. He had no lights, even though he had all of my pretensioners fitted in his. All cable from each pretensioner were also subjected to a continuity test and resistance chech....right through to the airbag module/ECU. Both the trafic and the vivaro had the same results. So def not seatbelt pretensioners or wiring to them. Using scan tool 'Bosch KTS200' under the profile of 'Renault Trafic' you get fault code 'B1003' - Drivers side front airbag igniter open circuit. If using the profile 'Vauxhall Vivaro' (still plugged in to the trafic) you get fault code 'B0011' - Driver side front airbag igniter circuitresistance too high. Both mean same thing really, but I find generaly you get better results if you scan a trafic under the vivaro settings. I also found that if whilst driving you bang the steering wheel about abit, sometimes the lights will go out. I'm gonna get another steering wheel airbag contact ring and swap over. I'll report on my results. #16 · Feb 26, 2016 I have this warning light on too.... will this be a MOT failure ?? Just about to try all the suggested tricks..... anything else ? http://www.renaultforums.co.uk/images/RenaultForums_uk_2016/smilies/tango_face_smile_big.png Insert Quotes Post Reply
