How to create a Stonecutter
Time needed: 5 minutes
To make a Stonecutter in Minecraft you will just need one iron ingot and three stone. That sounds pretty easy, but you need normal stone and not cobblestone, which can be a bit more difficult to obtain!
- Obtain Iron Ore
We just need one iron bar, so we don't need much ore. Both caves and ravines are great places to find the ore. Any space that's opened up which gives you a lot of surface area to explore makes it easier to spot it. You also might see it in the side of a mountain or hill. If you can't find it that way, mine your way downwards, and you should eventually come across it. It's one of the more common ores you will find in the game.

- Create an Iron Bar
We just need a single iron bar to create the stonecutter, so smelt an iron ore in your furnace to get it!

- Obtain Stone
So, now we need just stone. You can get this a couple of different ways. If you have a pickaxe with the Silk Touch enchantment then you can just mine it to get it. If not, then the usual way to obtain it is by smelting cobblestone in a furnace! You can get cobblestone by mining stone with any pickaxe. You will need three stone in total.

- Create the Stonecutter
We've got all the pieces we need, now we just need to follow the recipe! Place the iron bar in the middle of your crafting table, and line the bottom with the three stone to craft yourself a Stonecutter!

You can now make stone objects a lot more easily. Just drop in the resource you'd like to make into something and you'll get a list of the possible options:

Select the one you want and then create as many as you like of that particular object! It makes things a lot quicker, especially if you need specific numbers and don't want to be constantly shaping things for certain blocks!
