Overcooked! 2: How To Unlock All The Kevin Levels - Game Rant

The sequel to Overcooked! is back to give families, friends and couples something to enjoy and rage over by way of its thrilling co-op cooking sim experience. Overcooked! 2 now has more complex dishes with additional chefs, but also has new modes such as survival. There are quite a few of DLCs as well to keep bringing in the chefs and the content, so even when players get done with the main course, there is always dessert waiting for them after.

Another addition to Overcooked! 2 is the fact that Kevin, the charming dog that stands beside Onion King, has created some exciting levels hidden within the main map for some extra Overcooked 2 helpings. To unlock each of these levels, players must hit certain requirements on specific levels.

Kevin’s levels themselves aren’t the easiest, and achieving the requirements just to reach them can be tricky, so players need to be prepared for some time spent on these. However, going in with a gameplan — and knowing what the requirements are — will go a long way in getting all eight of the Kevin levels (with 10 more as part of the DLC packs).

Updated on November 27, 2023, by Stephen LaGioia: Whether players opt for a solo or co-op run through the game, reaching three-star ratings on a level can be a tough feat. Speed and coordination are a requirement. With so many things to keep track of, there is no doubt that slip-ups will happen.

Achieving the requirements to unlock Kevin's levels can be even more challenging, however, even when working with other players. Thankfully, with the holiday season in full-swing, there will be ample opportunity for many to practice their cooperative cooking skills and get another shot at those secret stages.

Kevin's Levels And How To Unlock Them

The precious pooch has hidden various levels throughout the game, both in the base game and in some DLCs. In order to unlock them, players must first find the hidden levels and then reach certain requirements.

To find these levels, players can look at the flag posts on each course. If the ball on the very top is showing a faded blink between white and black, that is a secret level. Or look below to quickly find all the levels. The requirements that players must reach differ between solo and co-op play. So if players are going at the game on their own, they don't have the weight of a hefty requirement that most players will experience!

Base Game Kevin Levels

With the most amount of hidden levels, players are able to access these without any separate purchase. The graph will indicate which world and level players will need to go to to achieve the specific requirement.

This vacation-themed DLC was released October 2018 and only costs $5.99 through Steam. Players will not only experience exciting new kitchens with great beach-themed recipes, but there are additional levels and chefs. And with new levels means a new Kevin level waiting to be discovered!

Campfire Cook Off DLC

This festive DLC was released in April 2019 through Steam, only costing $5.99 (though these packs are often on sale). Joining the team are four new chefs, plus amazing recipes that are perfect for any camping trip, like s'mores. New kitchens and levels are also introduced in this DLC, meaning Kevin is surely hiding secret levels in this map as well!

Night Of The Hangry Horde

This chilling DLC was released June 2019 and is a little more expensive at $9.99, but thankfully, it has more content. With new chefs, kitchens, and equipment, players are facing off with new levels plus a whole new game mode! Find Kevin's hidden levels and attempt to survive eight horde mode levels.

• Plan: While some levels can be easier to achieve than others, having a plan is always best when going into these levels, especially when in a group.
• Redo: Don't be afraid to start over if something has been botched early on. It might be easier than going through the entire round while scrambling to catch up with old orders, as this could send everyone into a frenzy of rushing.
• Some extra help: Having a group can come in handy. While it will bump up the requirements, it will also give players an extra boost as long as everyone is communicating. Make sure to assign jobs for everyone playing. If two players are working on the same thing, one item could be missed, as well as there might be some competition with the two players. If a team works well under leadership, try to assign the most organized player as a leader who sends out the dishes.

  Teamwork and communication will have players sailing through these goals easily!

• Know the environment: Learning the workings of each environment is key to really going far. Work around the obstacles and toss items to other players if needed. This can save ample time. Just make sure they're ready to catch it.

Going For Stars Vs Points Vs Combos

There are three different types of requirements players will need to watch for — Combos, Points, and Stars.

• With regards to Stars; only required within the Surf N Turf DLC, it can be fairly easy for those playing for a while.
  • Thankfully, to unlock the level it only requires One Star, so as long as players are putting out the dishes in order without messing up too many, they should achieve this goal. For a One Star requirement, players might choose to take more time than usual so as not to mess up any dishes like sending the wrong meal out or even overcooking an item.
• Points and Combos are similar to the Stars, but instead of just reaching the minimal amount of points for a Star, players will need to either reach a higher Points threshold or send out the right meals in a specific order to pull off Combos.
• To make Combos, players will need to send out the right meal in a specific order without messing up another meal in the process. Everything must be precise.
