QUICK TIPS
References to brochures or pamphlets are formatted in the same way as those to entire books. If the author is a corporation or organization, begin the reference with the corporate author. In square brackets after the title, identify the publication as a brochure.
Often a brochure or a pamphlet will not contain all of the information you require for a reference. If there is no date of publication, use the abbreviation n.d. (for "no date").
BROCHURES AND PAMPHLETS
Information required for a reference to a brochure or pamphlet includes:
- Author or corporate author
- Date of publication
- Title
- Publisher
- URL to brochure if published online
Examples of References:
Alzheimer's Association. (2008, March). Behavioral and psychiatric symptoms of Alzheimer's disease [Brochure].
Canadian Ophthalmological Association. (2007). Diabetes and the eye [Brochure].
Examples of In-Text Citations:
Parenthetical citations: (Canadian Ophthalmological Association, 2007)
Narrative citations: Alzheimer's Association (2008)
When references are required for a brochure you have created, list those references on the last page and follow report references format.
