He was taller than Hakeem, talle rthan Oakley who was listed at 6.9. Definitely taller thna Horry who wa slisted at 6.10. Taller than Charles Smith who was listed at 6.10 and seemed as tall as Shaq and David Robinson... Top User avatar g2d0925 Posts: 684 Joined: October 2005 Likes given: 0 Likes received: 0

I'm kind of curious what methods were used to verify his height. He was weighed twice in his NBA career and presumably measured at least once in the NCAA and in the NBA. Maybe Patrick is 7' 0" in shoes, but only heels would raise you as much as 3". Patrick's considerably shorter than Dikembe who's listed at 7' 2", but none of these pictures really tell us much because they're not standing straight up against a measuring instrument. We need some combine results. Irv New York Knicks Fan Page Top User avatar knicksH20 Posts: 13348 Joined: November 2003 Location: f***** Boston. Likes given: 6 Likes received: 33

I think Ewing is something like 6'10 1/2" or 6'11" without shoes. In the article the 7'2" Mutombo was probably just kidding around with Ewing by saying he was 6'9" since Mutombo is still a good 3" inches taller than he is. Maybe I'm wrong maybe he's 6'9". Barkley was listed at 6"6" but his drivers license said 6'5" when they showed it on Inside the NBA. There as some news articles that state he's really 6'4" without shoes. Most likely he's 6'5" without shoes standing up straight, but it doesn't really make a difference he both were still dominate even if they were shorter than listed. Bryon Russell is listed at 6'7", but we can't see their feet in that picture, so we don't really know their ... dimensional relationship. Top User avatar raiser Posts: 1596 Joined: June 2003 Location: Queens Likes given: 0 Likes received: 0

LOL If Patrick was 6 foot 9 than Barkley must have been 6 foot. Patrick was a legit 7 footer. He was taller than Camby, SIG Top User avatar jayshady2k6 Posts: 132 Joined: October 2005 Likes given: 0 Likes received: 0

to me, that seems a lot more like an inside joke between Ewing and Mutombo. you know, Pat was Mutombo's mentor, but Mutombo was taller so he probably made fun of Ewing for it. you know, something like: (giant muppet voice) "You're tiny. Mt. Mutombo is 7'2'', you're a puny human, like 6'9''." Ewing was a legit 7-footer, was always talked about as being 7 feet tall. not like Barkley, who was listed at 6'6'' but EVERYONE knew he was 6'4'' at the most. if Ewing was really 6'9'', i think this "scoop" would've come out a lot sooner, like during his college or early pro career, not 4 years after his retirement. No but seriously he had to be at least 6'11 and 7'1 in shoes. By the way who has a picture of him and dikembe. I didnt think dekembe was much taller. Any way ewing was like amare towards the begining of his career. He was all over the place. Truely dominant. Top Post Reply
