Pokémon BDSP: How To Get (& Evolve) Mareep - Screen Rant

Mareep is an adorable Electric-Type Wool Pokémon in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl that can evolve into Flaaffy and then into Ampharos once specific conditions are met. While Mareep's utility in battle isn't as appealing as its cuddly appearance, its final evolution form as Ampharos can certainly deliver superior value in combat. There are two primary ways of finding Mareep, yet Trainers must first beat the main story of Pokémon BDSP for these methods to become available.
To complete the base content of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, players will need to defeat the Elite Four and the Champion Cynthia. They must also see all 150× Pokémon in the Sinnoh region. Once these two prerequisites have been accomplished, they can head to Sandgem Town and speak with Professor Rowan inside the lab to receive the National Pokédex and PokéRadar, the two items needed for encountering Mareep. Additionally, Trainers shouldn't forget to obtain their radar's Chain Counter App, which is acquired from Professor Oak in Ramanas Park.

Using the PokéRadar, players have a 5-20% chance of finding Mareep in Valley Windworks. There is also the possibility of encountering Flaaffy, Mareep's second evolution form in Pokémon BDSP, when using the radar on Route 222. The second way to catch Mareep is by exploring the Grand Underground. First, chat with the Underground Man in Eterna City to gain access to the Grand Underground by acquiring the Explorer Kit. Once Trainers have made their way beneath the surface, they can encounter Mareep within Whiteout Cave, Sunlit Cavern, and Grassland Cave. While it's possible to explore every one of these three locations, players can instead focus their search on a single area. By exiting and re-entering a cave, all the Wild Pokémon will reset, renewing the opportunity to find Mareep.
Evolving Mareep in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl
Once Trainers have caught Mareep, they can evolve it into Flaaffy by having it reach Level 15. If the captured Pokémon is already at a level higher than 15, fans can give it a Rare Candy in Pokémon BDSP to have it level up instantly and evolve into Flaaffy. To have Flaaffy mature into Ampharos, it must attain Level 30.
To quickly level a Pokémon in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Trainers can give it a Lucky Egg, a unique item that increases battle EXP by 1.5×. Alternatively, Hideaways are excellent areas for level-grinding, as the Wild Pokémon within each Hideaway scale to the player's party.
