Pokémon Legends: Arceus - How To Catch Darkrai - CBR

The Mythical Pokémon Darkrai was first introduced in Generation IV's Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. It starred in 2007's fan-favorite The Rise of Darkrai movie and is part of the Lunar Duo with the Legendary Pokémon Cresselia. In the original games, players could find Darkrai on Newmoon Island, a location that was only accessible through with the Member Card, and item only distributed through special events.

Darkrai is one of many Mythical Pokémon that can be caught in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. It is part of Request 93: The Darksome Nightmare, a side-mission players can unlock by checking the request board in Professor Laventon's room in Galaxy Hall. One of the Pearl Clan members has seen a mysterious Pokémon in the Coronet Highlands that is causing nightmares, and the player is tasked with checking out a specific location. Here's where to look for Darkrai and how to catch the Pokémon once it has been found.

Darkrai is located at the Clamberclaw Cliffs in the Coronet Highlands, near the Lonely Spring. Players must accept the quest The Darksome Nightmare and visit the Cliffs during the nighttime for Darkrai to appear. If players do not visit the jagged rock formation just north of the Lonely Spring during the nighttime, they will only be able to investigate the central rock. If they visit during the night, a short cutscene will play, and Darkrai will appear.

Once Darkrai appears, it will begin roaming the area around the rock formation. Players can easily locate Darkrai by looking for the black and purple mist that swirls around it. To catch this Pokémon, players must use stealth. Darkrai is easily alerted to the player's presence, and if it locks onto the player, it will continue its pursuit until an attack lands or the player successfully runs away. Players will need to watch out for Darkrai's Dark Void attack, which causes the player to be drowsy, or Dark Pulse, which homes in on the player. The other two moves Darkrai may use are Hex and Psychic.

If players throw items at Darkrai from the front or side, the Pokémon will immediately vanish and reappear elsewhere. To successfully catch Darkrai, players need to sneak around and hide behind boulders until Darkrai is facing the opposite direction, then throw an Ultra Ball. The boulders can also protect against some attacks, but it's better not to stand still when Darkrai is on the offensive. Once caught, Darkrai joins the player's team at level 70, and it is number 242 in the Hisui Pokédex.
