You can add the Projectile Protection enchantment to any piece of armor such as helmets, chestplates, leggings or boots using an enchanting table, anvil, or game command. You will then need to wear the enchanted armor to gain the projectile protection.
The maximum level for the Projectile Protection enchantment is Level 4. This means that you can enchant an item with up to Projectile Protection IV. The higher the level, the more powerful the enchantment.

You will see your character's appearance change as the armor is worn.

Now that you are wearing the enchanted armor with Projectile Protection, the amount of damage that you will take from objects projected at you will be reduced.
