Okay, what's the deal with this? I want to always play on Hard Mode, but I get it sometimes, where it says something like "Hard Mode Active" on my Prep Screen, and other times it doesn't say it, and I end up on I guess Easy or Normal Mode. Is this random, or does it need to be toggled before doing the Intel/Scoping mission? Because it sure seems that way. Last heist was on Easy, which I realized when I had only one hack to get into Rubio's basement, and this time it seems like its op Easy/Normal again, since there's nothing about Hard Mode on my prep screen.

Trigger the Prep table within forty eight real world minutes of Pavel texting you that you can Heist again and you will activate Hard Mode.

 

You get paid ten percent more for the Primary Target and I think you get more for Secondary and the Fingerprint Scanners have an extra level.

Thanks! So if I trigger it after the 48 real minutes have elapsed, then I am automatically in Easy/Normal? Great to know! :)

Yes, Pavel will text you about ten or fifteen minutes after you complete the Heist so it's worth waiting before you turn the game off.

 

The timer is forty eight real world minutes even if you are not playing so if you turn the game off for longer than that you won't be able to activate Hard Mode when you log back on. As long as you trigger the Heist within those forty-eight minutes it does not matter how long you leave the Prep work after that.

Wait, @RyuNova, I think I misunderstood you and got it in reverse. You're saying that in order to play the heist on Hard, I have to wait the 48 minutes, NOT that I need to get the heist start ($25K Payment) in before the 28 hour timer expires?

When you complete the Heist, wait, Pavel will send you a message saying you can do it again, this will take around ten to fifteen minutes. Once you receive the message you have forty-eight real world minutes (one in game day) to get to your Sub and start a new Heist from the command table. This will set the Heist to Hard Mode and get you ten percent more upon completion. The forty-eight minute window counts down regardless of if you are playing the game or not so if you complete a Heist and then decide to turn the game off and go to bed don't expect the prompt for Hard Mode to come up when you log back on.

Just wait for Pavel to text you that you can do it again and go and start it. No need to go to the island, just pay the 25k fee for the heist.

LMAO okay, so I had it right the first time then I think. DO NOT wait past the 48 min if I want to play on Hard. Go pay the money at least immediately. Thanks! :)

Yea perhaps I could have been more clear. To get Hard Mode you only need to trigger the Heist from the Prep table, no Gathering Intel or whatever. Just as long as you pay that twenty-five grand before the forty-eight minutes is up you will get Hard Mode.

Does the planning board already Show the value with 10% included?

Or will the 10% added after the heist?

You have reminded me of something in hard mode that's bugging me.

 

Last 2 times I've done hard mode I got the tequila, planning board put it at something like 980/990k value.

 

Play the finale and take the tequila, the game registers it as 900k which I'm sure is it's value in normal mode. First time I thought it was a bug and it happened the next time too - I was definitely in hard mode.

 

Just annoying more than anything tbh
