    Mexican-style Homemade

For anyone who frequents Hispanic restaurants, you might be familiar with the popular Horchata made to accompany all of your taco, traditional Mexican style rice, Arroz con leche or even a Spanish Seafood Paella recipe. Or how about these tacos dorados? However, if you’ve never tried it for yourself, this delicious and refreshing drink is made from a mixture of blended rice, water/milk, and cinnamon mixed in with vanilla and sugar.

    Few Ingredients, Plenty of Flavor

Although there are very few ingredients, the flavor of your drink will depend on the quality of the ingredients you add-in. We’ve chosen good quality rice like Mahatma® White Rice to ensure the base of this drink starts out well. Next, choose a fresh cinnamon stick that is full of flavor, you’ll be able to tell by how well it smells. Ground cinnamon can also be included, but for a more pronounced flavor, we recommend using a stick.

Feel free to use purified water or tap water, depending on availability and preference. Milk also works here if you want a richer and creamier drink. Use your favorite milk variety or plant-based substitutes such as coconut milk or almond milk.

Make sure to use granulated sugar of choice and vanilla that has a strong flavor, if desired.
