Raising Dion Season 2 Teases Powerful New Enemy In First-look Pics

Netflix superhero series Raising Dion has shared a first look at season 2 in a series of new pictures, as well as announcing a release date for early next year.

The show, which is executive produced by Black Panther's Michael B Jordan, debuted back in 2019, and follows a young boy who inherits superpowers from his dad.

New pictures from the next batch of episodes see the action begin two years after taking down the Crooked Man, and it looks like Dion is facing a dangerous new enemy.

"Two years after defeating the Crooked Man, Dion and the Triangle of Justice are back, but everything is not as it seems," the synopsis teases.

"Something terrible is on the horizon. Dion is older and more powerful, but will that be enough to keep everyone safe?"

What could it possibly be?

Netflix has also confirmed that the new episodes will premiere on February 1, so we've got under two months to wait.

The next season will see the returns of stars Ja'Siah Young, Alisha Wainwright, Sammi Haney, Ali Ahn and Jazmyn Simon, with Jordan also expected to be back as Dion's father Mark. Additionally, How to Get Away with Murder's Rome Flynn and Sweet Magnolias' Tracey Bonner join the cast.

It's one of the key foundations of comic books – the origin story as analogy for adolescence.

"There's nothing wrong with wheeling out a tried-and-tested formula when it has a life of its own, and Raising Dion succeeds in maintaining its own personality."

Raising Dion season 2 will premiere on Netflix on February 1, 2022. Season 1 is available to stream now.
