Review:
This refreshing Rickey-style cocktail is best made as per the original recipe, with a slightly salty sparkling mineral water such as Topo Chico. My recipe assumes suitable mineral water is not available, so in an attempt to replicate Topo Chico, I have added a few drops of saline solution (or a pinch of sea salt) to soda water (club soda). In Texas, the following is a popular, heavier on the citrus recipe, but it requires a larger capacity Collins glass. Everything's bitter in Texas! 45ml (1½oz) Blanco tequila 30ml (1oz) Lime juice 15ml (½oz) Triple sec liqueur 15ml (½oz) Agave syrup 90ml (3oz) Sparkling mineral water

Jay Drury 13th February at 07:36 Very tasty and refreshing. It's like a fizzy margarita. Not a huge fan of plain margaritas, so I added 1/2 oz of passion fruit liqueur to spice it up. It was a little too sweet, so next time void the agave. Yum!! 0 reply ...
Mark 25th January 2025 at 03:24 Surprisingly this was very nice, used Dry Curacao so the drink was far from being sweet, yet the orange was still present. 2 reply ...
John Hinojos 14th June 2022 at 01:47 Living in Southern California this was just OK. Not one of my favorites. Found it a bit bland. Even tried a tequila Anejo float and it was a bit better, but not one of my favourites. 1 reply ...
nicholas inston 24th April 2022 at 14:50 Fever-tree Mexican lime soda works well. Agree about the triple sec. Can leave out and still excellent. 2 reply ...
John Smith 6th November 2021 at 03:58 A Texan says this is a winner on a hot day. You can cut back or even leave out the triple sec. 3 reply ... See discussion in the Forum
Queen Elizabeth No. 1
A Chelsea Sidecar with absinthe
Queen Elizabeth No. 2
An orange curaçao-influenced Sweet Manhattan
Grand Stand
No one ingredient is grandstanding in this classic brandy and gin-based, maraschino-influenced sour
Almond Martini
A almond-flavoured Vodkatini that delivers on its name. Best when made with tonka bitters (or vanilla bitters), adding balance and depth of flavour
Apricot Lady Sour
This seemingly soft, fluffy and apricot fruity cocktail hides a most unladylike rum bite
Chevalier
Aromatic bitters add their distinctive flavour to a classic Sidecar
Previous cocktail Avion de Papel
A riff on Sam Ross' Paper Plane this makes for a delicious aperitivo. I like to add 2 drops saline solution
Next cocktail Mex Martini
An apt name for a cocktail that's so tasty, it could well become a contemporary classic
