At first, while the Resident Services is a tent, it offers:
- Tom Nook: Ask him what to do if you're unsure of how to progress.
- Timmy & Tommy: Purchase flimsy tools and other goods from them. They will leave after unlocking Nook's Cranny.
- Tom Nook's Work Bench: Use this to craft things!
- Recycling Bin: Sometimes, free items appear here for the taking.
- Nook Stop Terminal: This ATM-looking machine on the bottom right of the room is where you can Redeem Nook Miles, pay off your debt, and more.
Expanding the Resident Services Center
You will be able to Upgrade Resident Services into a proper town hall in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Tom Nook will upgrade Resident Services after you attract three more villagers to the island. See How to Upgrade Resident Services for more detailed information.
After that, it will offer, in addition:
- Isabelle: Isabelle takes over daily announcements, and will allow you to complain about a resident to make them dress or talk differently, change the island tune, change the island flag, and tell you about your island evaluation.
- Tom Nook: After upgrading, Tom Nook will serve to change infrastructure, like adding bridges and inclines ($98k-$228k) , demolishing things, and changing the layout ($50k per move).
