Since Karen's death in 1983, Richard Carpenter has continued to mark the legacy of his sister and the group by performing and bringing out new compilations.

In 2018, Richard released a new compilation of classical updates of Carpenters songs with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, reaching number 8 in the UK singles chart.

His latest musical release was the 2022 album Richard Carpenter's Piano Songbook.
