Trivia
Rock Climb was the last HM move to be introduced.
Rock Climb and Rock Smash are the only moves to have the word rock in their name and not be Rock-type.
Coincidentally, both have been HM moves at some point.
In Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, the Gligar and Zigzagoon evolutionary lines, as well as Bidoof, cannot learn Rock Climb, despite being able to learn this move by breeding in previous generations.
This article is part of Project Moves and Abilities, a Bulbapedia project that aims to write comprehensive articles on two related aspects of the Pokémon games.
