Learn how to make this simple and fragrant rosemary pine beard balm for the bearded man in your life or to give as gifts to family and friends!
I’ve done plenty of DIY projects over the last few years – from Tallow Balm to coffee lip balm, and even bath bombs. However… beard balm is made especially for men. Bearded men, to be exact.
I’m going to show you how to make beard balm – it’s fairly simple and super cost effective. Beard balm makes a wonderful homemade gift for a husband, boyfriend, or even friends and family with beards.
Rosemary Pine Beard Balm
This beard balm starts with a base of carrier oils infused with rosemary and pine. I like using additional ingredients that will help care for the skin. If you don’t have rosemary or pine to infuse in the carrier oils, simply go without and just add the essential oils.
The ingredients in this beard balm moisturize and condition the beard, and the balm is portable. The 2 oz tin will last quite a while and it has an incredible scent to it that’s very masculine.

This recipe makes 12 oz of beard balm. I use 2 oz tins (and I usually get them in bulk on Amazon), and end up with 6 tins of beard balm. If you wish to make more or less, simply double or halve the ingredients.
Ingredients:
There are many different carrier oils you can use when making beard balm – sweet almond, jojoba and argan are all really good oils that are easily absorbed.
- 1 C. rosemary and pine infused oil
- 1.5o oz beeswax pellets
- 1 oz unrefined shea butter
- 15 drops rosemary essential oil
- 15 pine essential oil
Instructions:
Gather the rosemary and pine needles and put them in a jar. Cover them with your carrier oil of choice (in my case it’s sweet almond and jojoba) and let it sit for several weeks. Or, place it in a small saucepan of water on the lowest heat and infuse over the course of several hours.
Strain out the pine needles and rosemary. Add that strained oil to a glass measuring cup with beeswax and shea butter. Zap in the microwave for short, 15-20 second bursts until the mixture is melted. Once the mixture is melted and combined, then mix in the essential oils and pour into 2 oz tins.

Let them cool for several hours. While they cool, they’ll harden up and smell incredible. Now, while this balm is beard balm, it’s not just for beards. Use it on your dry hands and feet, too. It will help soften and moisturize while allowing you to smell amazing, too!
