Security Guard Card Program – Temporarily Paused:

Thank you for your interest in the Mission Hiring Hall Security Guard Card Program.

Due to recent funding reductions affecting workforce development programs across the city, Mission Hiring Hall will be temporarily pausing all Guard Card training sessions. While this pause is necessary, it is not permanent. We are actively pursuing additional funding and will provide updates on the program’s status as more information becomes available.

About the Program (Currently on Pause)

The Security Guard Card Program is designed to help San Francisco residents enter the private security industry. It typically includes:

  • A one-day, state-compliant required training to be eligible to apply for the California Guard Card license
  • Basic customer service instruction
  • Job application and job search support

Alternate Training Referrals

While this program is temporarily paused, we can provide referrals to other local programs offering security guard training or related career pathways.
