Security Guard Card Training Program
The State of Connecticut has approved Hartford Public Library's Security Officer Training Program, commonly known as the "Guard Card" class. The successful completion of this one-day program will qualify candidates to apply for a Security Officer ID card issued by the State of Connecticut Department of Emergency Services & Public Protection. (C.G.S. Sec 29-161q)
| Class Fee: | $100* payable by check or money order only Registration and payment are required before class. NOTE: Payments and registration can be dropped off at the Main Library . (refer to the schedule below) |

After the Class
After completing the course, applicants will be responsible for the following:
--> Filling out the application (DPS135C)
--> Copy of current driver’s license
--> 1 passport style photo
--> Obtaining fingerprints
--> Complete naturalization paperwork (if applicable)
--> Checks or money orders for:
- $100 application fee
- $75 CT background check
- $13.25 FBI check
