Shin Megami Tensei 5: How To Access DLC - Game Rant

Shin Megami Tensei 5 is finally out after a near decade-long wait for fans. Once again, players will be expected to set out on a journey in a post-apocalyptic Tokyo. Hunting and joining forces with demons brings a darker element to the Pokemon-like mechanics.

The Shin Megami Tensei series is known and loved for its difficult but fair gameplay mechanics. Even with the introduction of easier gameplay modes, SMT 5 is still very challenging that requires careful thought and strategy to succeed in its many difficult boss battles. Thanks to SMT 5's inclusion of DLC, players are given more choice and options to tweak the difficulty and take on harder quests.

The DLC And What It Unlocks

All DLC will be unlocked if the player has purchased the Deluxe Edition of Shin Megami Tensei 5. This is priced at $84.99, but all content can also be purchased separately.

Free Day One DLC

• Safety Difficulty

As the title suggests this free add-on will allow players to unlock an easy mode. Enemy encounters are easier and players will be able to enjoy the experience without worrying about very difficult encounters.

• Japanese Voices

This feature will unlock the Japanese dub for players that want a more authentic experience.

Mitama Dance Of EXP

• Price: $2.99

The Mitama Dance of EXP will allow the player to earn more experience points by increasing the rate that Ara Mitama and Kushi Mitama will appear.

Mitama Dance Of Wealth

• Price $2.99

The Mitama Dance of Wealth DLC will allow the player to earn more Macca. It increases the rate that the Saki Mitama will appear. The Saki Mitama drop valuable items upon defeat that can be sold at a merchant.

Mitama Dance Of Miracles

• Price: $2.99

The Mitama Dance of Miracles DLC will increase the rate that the Nigi Mitama will appear. The defeated Nigi will drop more glory when defeated in battle.

The Sub Quest DLC

A Goddess In Training

• Price: $4.99

The DLC sub quest A Goddess in Training will allow players to recruit Megami Artemis. This is a mid-game challenge, so initiate the sub-quest by talking to the Bethel Researcher at the Tokyo Diet Building.

The Rage Of A Queen

• Price: $24.99

The most expensive DLC add-on so far will allow players to recruit Femme Cleopatra. It's an endgame quest unlocked by initiating a conversation with the Bethel Researcher in the Tokyo Diet Building.

The Doctor's Last Wish

• Price: $2.99

This endgame DLC will allow players to recruit the Tyrant Mephisto once the sub quest has been completed. To initiate The Doctor's Last Wish quest, talk to the Bethel Researcher in the Tokyo Diet Building.

Return Of The Demon

• Price: $9.99

This endgame sub-quest sees the return of Shin Megami Tensei 3's Demi-Fiend. Unfortunately, the Demi-Fiend can't be recruited but he can be challenged to a fight an unlimited number of times.

Even though Demi-Fiend can't be recruited, nine other demons can be once they are defeated. These demons are:

• Matador
• Daisoujou
• Hell Biker
• White Rider
• Red Rider
• Black Rider
• Pale Rider
• Mother Harlot
• Trumpeter

Once again, all of the above DLC can be purchased individually or as part of the Deluxe Edition.
