Six Flags Fright Fest: A Guide To Family-friendly Activities ...

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — It’s almost time to get spooked at Six Flags Great Adventure.

The Jackson, N.J. theme park is hosting a fall line-up of events, including Fright Fest, which Six Flags promises to be the “scariest event ever.”

Daylight hours are reserved for family-friendly activities. But when the sun sets, prepare to be scared, as Six Flags will pull out all the stops for “fright by night.” These events run on select days from Sept. 16 through Oct. 31 (Halloween).

Here’s what to know about the spooky season events.

Oktoberfest Food Festival

From Sept. 17 through Oct. 30, this food festival is sure to become a new family favorite as it’s filled with a large selection of seasonal craft lagers and beers from around the world. It will also include a variety of frightfully delicious cocktails and German-style foods.

“Family-Friendly” Kids Boo Fest

Six Flags will adorn the theme park in its fall finest with mums, pumpkins, cornstalks and hay bales.

Kids Boo Fest attractions for families will include trick-or-treating in Cornstalk National Park, Scarecrow Street at Liberty Fountain, and two live shows, the Spooktacular Dance Party and Witch’s Brew.

Fright Fest will also feature the theme park’s enhanced dining options, fall shopping, including popular Fright Fest hoodies, and a world-class lineup of rides and attractions, including the newly renovated Jr. Thrillseekers area and Medusa roller coaster. All daytime Fright Fest attractions are included with park admission, according to Six Flags.

The event featured family-friendly activities and socially-distant scaring. While Six Flags said Hallowfest was successful, Fright Fest fans were eager for the return of the park’s show lineup and full complement of haunted mazes.
