I'm ordering my daughter a flower girl dress and my friend who is the bride found one online she wants us to order. Trouble is - I don't know whether to order a 12 month or size 1t.

She is long and lean.... It's in 3 months so I doubt she's going to grow an entire dress size in 3 months.

What size is she in now? We just got my daughters dress for my sisters wedding and we got a 3t. She's wearing 2t right now and is 21 lbs and 32 inches. The 3t is big on her by very little. The wedding is in July so I expect her to fill it out yet still fit into it. I would suggest going to try dresses on. I've never seen size 1T as an option so I would have no idea what size to get. Someone else had a post asking about 1T clothing as while ago and generally people had never heard or it or seen it either. Is there a way you could try the dress on your daughter before ordering? That's so weird. I'm a STM and have never seen a 1t size. If it's anything like the difference between 24 months and 2t, I'd say the "t" one is slightly bigger. LikeViolation ReportedReport as Inappropriatebbeautymomma34

1T is basically 12months. Just different fit from what I found. When my daughter was younger we had to use 1T when she no longer fit in size 12m cause they were too small and 18month was too big. I have tall kids so found 1T worked best for us when she was back inbetween those sizes. I've noticed lots don't even know 1T exist though. I saw 1T for girls clothing all the time, and none for boys when my son was inbetween. LikeViolation ReportedReport as Inappropriatemmeg76uk

I'd ask the company what the measurements are for 1T; it is not a standard size, as you can see from the responses. My mother has worked in kids clothing retail for many years in different shops and never encountered it--I suspect it's very limited and specific to certain stores/designers/regions.

I'd always order bigger than you need as you can take in dresses pretty easily. A toddler can grow in fits and spurts and you may be surprised by how big she gets in 3 months.
